Ron Mann - USTFCCCA Hall of Fame Inductee - Coach to Coach

Mann had a legendary career as the leader of the track & field and cross country programs at NAU.  Mann directed the Lumberjack running programs for 24 years (1980-2004) and helped guide Northern Arizona to a total of 58 Big Sky Team Championships.  He coached a total of 103 student-athletes who earned All-America honors and 16 that finished among the top 10 at the NCAA National Championships. 
 
Ron Mann was inducted into the USTFCCCA Hall of Fame during the December 2018 meetings.   
 
In addition, Mann helped mentor four student athletes that went on to capture the NCAA National Championship in their event as well as five Olympians and a pair of Boston Marathon Champions (Wesley Korir, 2012 & Ibrahim Hussen, 1992).
 
For his efforts, Mann was recognized with an amazing total of 56 Big Sky Coach of the Year awards.  He has been inducted into the NAU Athletic Hall of Fame on three occasions – as a student-athlete (1971), as a member of the coaching staff of the 1988 Lumberjack Team and as an individual (1999).
 
Mann served as the 2008 U.S Olympic men's middle distance coach in Beijing and was the coach of the 2005 U.S. Men's World Outdoor Championships Team that competed in Helsinki, Finland.
