Pat McCurry made a huge impact on the Bronco middle distance contingent in his first year with Boise State, best shown through Sadi Henderson’s breakout redshirt sophomore season in 2017 that included two All-America honors in the 800m at the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Track and Field Championships. McCurry’s training regimen helped Henderson attain both the indoor 800m (2:04.01) and outdoor 800m (2:02.33) school records, along with the indoor and outdoor 800m conference titles. The entire middle distance group benefitted from McCurry, who will now be entering his second year at Boise State after a 13-year stint as the head coach of the College of Idaho men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs. Most notably, he helped Hillary Holt to nine individual NAIA national championships between cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field. Other Yotes to win national titles include Sora Klopfenstein (3,000m steeplechase), Sarah Johnson (5,000 meters) and Tiana Thomas (400-meter hurdles). More videos |
