This year is Doug’s 18th season as a head cross country & track coach in Southern California. He has led his Girls’ XC teams to 10 league titles in the first 13 years of the school, including 9 straight from 2008-2016. His girls have qualified to CIF all 13 years, making CIF Finals 12 out of those 13 times. The girls’ team has won 7 CIF Southern Section Division 1 XC Titles (09, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16), as well as State Runner up in 2009, and six Division 1 State Championships in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. He has also had 3 girls teams podium (2nd, 3rd, and 3rd) at NXN. His boys' xc teams have won 6 league titles, 2 CIF SS Southern Section Titles, and were the 2014, 2015, and 2016 Division 1 State Champions! The 2015 boys team also went on to win the NXN National Championship! His combined cross country program usually has around 130-180 athletes on it, with various training groups and levels. Coach Soles was named the California Coaches Association Girls Cross Country Coach of the year for 2012, and the Girls CA Coach of the Year in 2014 & 2015 by the USATFCCCA. In 2015 he was also named Boys State and National Coach of the Year by the USATFCCCA. More videos |
